Deena Ana is an artist, writer & researcher. Her work is rooted in subversive feminism, the divine, embodied health, gnosticism & social justice. Her research areas of interest include feminine theology, Near Eastern church history & mysticism. Deena’s mother language is Syriac (Eastern Neo-Aramaic). She also speaks English & Spanish.

Deena studied Latin American & Spanish History & Psychology at the University of San Francisco, obtaining a BA in 2015. She is currently working through an MFA in Creative Writing at Dominican University in Marin, concentrating in Poetry & Narrative Medicine. Her professional & creative background spans industries, from hospitality to nonprofit to community organization to childcare to tech to film to music. Deena is based in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was raised.
